Summer jobs are eligible for a $500 sign on bonus until April 2<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

INDIAN\u00c1POLIS <\/strong>\u2013 Today, Mayor Joe Hogsett joined Indy Parks Director Brittany Crone and Indy Parks staff to highlight up to 400 summer jobs available at parks across the city. Available positions include lifeguards, pool managers, camp counselors, food program positions, cashiers, park inspectors, and stage technicians. Indy Parks hired 282 lifeguards and 413 total summer staff in 2025.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEvery summer, Indy Parks job openings are the perfect opportunity for our young people to spend their sunny days out of school in a fun, productive way,\u201d said Mayor Joe Hogsett. \u201cNot only do these jobs offer good wages and a meaningful, career-beginning experience, but they also teach our youth the incredible value and impact of public service in our Indianapolis community.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lifeguards start at $15 an hour, Pool Managers start at $16.50, and Camp Counselors start at $14 per hour. A $500 sign-on bonus is available for eligible positions until April 2. A $250 sign on bonus will be available from April 3 to May 9. Both bonuses are subject to eligibility. Residents aged 16 and up are encouraged to apply. Some camp counselor and food program staff positions require applicants to be 18 or older. Applications and more information can be found at parques.indy.gov\/summerjobs<\/a>.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur parks are some of the most important community assets we have in Indianapolis,\u201d said City-County Councilor Dan Boots, Chair of the Council\u2019s Parks and Recreation Committee. \u201cSummer jobs with Indy Parks give young people the opportunity to earn a paycheck, build valuable skills, and serve their neighborhoods. At the same time, these positions help ensure our pools, camps, and programs remain safe, welcoming spaces for families across the city.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indy Parks offers a range of aquatics programs<\/a> year-round at indoor pools and during the summer at outdoor pools, including swim lessons and swim teams. The department also offers scholarships for those programs, which can be found aqu\u00ed<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Debido a las obras de construcci\u00f3n en el Proyecto de la l\u00ednea azul de IndyGo,<\/a> the pool at Parque Willard<\/a> will be closed in 2026 as IndyGo continues work on Washington St. and the eastern portion of the park, which includes the water line that runs to the pool. There will also be preventative construction at Broad Ripple and Frederick Douglass Parks this spring to replace the pool liners at both pools. Those two pools will open once construction and water testing are completed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2025, Indy Parks served 4,253 Summer Campers at camps across the city. Residents can find information about 2026 camp offerings and scholarships on the Indy Parks website<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
