Lifeguards start at $15 an hour, Camp Counselors and Food Program Coordinators at $14 an hour, and Cashiers at $13 an hour. All seasonal positions are eligible for a sign on bonus of up to $500.
“Early Bird” Sign-on Bonus Terms
Eligibility: Seasonal, part-time Indy Parks (DPR) staff hired for the Summer 2026 who complete the summer season successfully with no written corrective actions and fewer than 7 days of vacation or missed work. Candidate must submit all hiring paperwork and be registered for all required trainings by April 2, 2026.
Eligible positions: Assistant Program Coordinators (summer meals); Camp Counselors (Head, Therapeutic, Traditional, Environmental, Art, and Bike) (day camp); Cashiers, Head Lifeguards, Lifeguards, (seasonal) Pool Managers (aquatics); seasonal Facility Attendants, Park Inspectors, Seasonal Naturalists (operations); and seasonal Stage Technicians (production arts)
Bonus: up to $500 in total to be paid out as follows:
- $200 bonus after successfully completing all required trainings and 175 hours of documented hours worked during the 2026 summer season.
- $300 bonus after successfully completing their summer season, working until their full planned season, as indicated at the start of employment.
Sign-on Bonus Terms
Eligibility: Seasonal, part-time DPR staff hired for the Summer 2026 who complete the summer season successfully with no written corrective actions and fewer than 7 days of vacation or missed work. Candidate must submit all hiring paperwork and be registered for all required trainings by May 9, 2026.
Eligible positions: Assistant Program Coordinators (summer meals); Camp Counselors (Head, Therapeutic, Traditional, Environmental, Art, and Bike) (day camp); Cashiers, Head Lifeguards, Lifeguards, (seasonal) Pool Managers (aquatics); seasonal Facility Attendants, Park Inspectors, Seasonal Naturalists (operations); and seasonal Stage Technicians (production arts)
Bonus: $250 to be paid out as follows:
- $250 bonus after successfully completing 200 hours of employment or completing their full planned summer season as indicated at the start of employment.
Referral Bonus
Eligibility: Seasonal, part-time DPR staff hired for the Summer 2026 who complete at least 100 hours of employment with DPR the summer season successfully with no written corrective actions and fewer than 7 days of vacation or missed work. Candidate must submit all hiring paperwork and be registered for all required trainings by May 9, 2026.
Eligible positions: Assistant Program Coordinators (summer meals); Camp Counselors (Head, Therapeutic, Traditional, Environmental, Art, and Bike) (day camp); Cashiers, Head Lifeguards, Lifeguards, (seasonal) Pool Managers (aquatics); seasonal Facility Attendants, Park Inspectors, Seasonal Naturalists (operations); and seasonal Stage Technicians (production arts)
Bonus: $250 per referral to be paid out as follows:
- Employee referring candidate will receive a $250 bonus after the referred candidate is hired and successfully completes all required trainings and one hundred (100) hours of documented REGTM worked.
- Referred candidate must complete all prerequisites for hiring, submit all required paperwork on time, successfully complete all required trainings, and complete one hundred (100) hours of work before bonus will be paid to referring candidate.
