INDIANAPOLIS – During the month of December, Indy Parks will host a lineup of winter and holiday-themed events across the city to celebrate the holiday season. Holiday Arts and Crafts
- Adult Arts & Crafts: Yuletide Wreath at Broad Ripple Park, Dec. 6: Just in time for the holidays, residents can head over to Broad Ripple Park to create festive Yuletide Wreaths out of fresh pine!
- Holiday Pop-up Cards at Garfield Park Arts Center, Dec. 7 and 14: Garfield Parks Art Center is teaming up with local paper artist and illustrator Shelley Hanmo to bring residents a class on how to create their own hand-cut collage art greeting cards.
- Gingerbread house making: Celebrate the season at one of Indy Parks’ gingerbread house making events! This year events will be held at Broad Ripple Park, Thatcher Park, Indiana World Sports Park, and Krannert Park that will conclude in a citywide gingerbread house contest.

- Ice Rink at Holliday Park, Nov. 29 – March 1
- Enjoy a Winter Solstice Nature Hike at Juan Solomon Park and Southeastway Park, Dec. 21
Holiday Celebrations
- Conservatory Crossing at Garfield Park Conservatory, Nov. 29 – Dec. 29: Come enjoy our winter wonderland! See the Conservatory decked out in its holiday best with a brilliant display of poinsettias, model trains and village, and thousands of twinkling lights. There will be a scavenger hunt to go along with the train display.
- Winter Singalong at Riverside Park, Dec. 10: Come out for a winter-themed singalong with the Indianapolis Women’s Chorus.
- Christmas Party with Santa at the Garfield Park Burrello Family Center, Dec. 13: Celebrate the holiday season with a variety of festive activities including cookie decorating and a visit from Santa Claus.
- Holiday event at Rhodius Park, Dec. 13: Join the staff at Rhodius Park for a holiday event that includes arts and crafts, pictures with Santa, cookie decorating, and gift giveaways.
- Skate with Santa at Perry Park, Dec. 14
- Santa’s Workshop at Indy Island, Dec. 21: These holiday festivities include ornament making, cookie decorating, photos with Santa Claus, and an artificial snowball fight.
- It’s Kwanzaa Time! At Washington and Frederick Douglass Parks on December 21 and 28: These events will tell the tale of Kwanzaa through stories and song.
