About the Burrello Family Center
Opened in 1873, Garfield Park is the oldest park in Indianapolis and is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. The park’s Burrello Family Center and Aquatic Center opened in 1998, replacing the old pool and basketball court in the community center. It was named in honor of longtime park manager and dedicated Indy Parks employee Lynda Burrello.
