About Mari Evans Park

Mari Evans Park, formerly Broadway & 29th Park, is a small neighborhood park in the Mapleton Fall Creek Neighborhood. The park includes playground equipment and a swing set.

Mari Evans Park is named for famous Indianapolis poet, author, educator, and activist Mari Evans. Evans is honored with one of the city’s most recognizable murals on Mass Ave in downtown Indianapolis. More information about Evans and her work is available here.

Through a combination of neighborhood grant and funding from the 2024 Indy Parks Capital Budget, the park is scheduled to receive improvements including a new playground, signage and a shelter.
